The regulations enter into force on 1 January 2027. This marks the start of a new era of orderly early retirement: employees in the sector gain the option to reduce their working activity gradually or completely before the ordinary retirement age, while remaining financially secure.
What this means for businesses and employees
Employers and employees in the building services sector become liable to contribute from 2027. The contributions finance the bridging pensions, which are paid out from 2028. The administrative processes are handled through the Stiftung VRM Gebäudetechnik.
